I love how sometimes when you are cruisin’ around the web looking for bridal inspiration and you not only find something new and cool, but you find out it originated from your neck of the woods! Of course this new wedding site would be out of Seattle… the Pacific Northwest is full of idea-generating entrepreneurs and the new wedding site I found today completely fits our region’s commitment to creating a more sustainable lifestyle. The best way to contribute to a more sustainable economy is to purchase your wedding items from local stores and vendors. But sometimes it’s just not possible to find exactly what you are looking for in a local boutique or you are in search of something so unique the only way to obtain it would be to find it handmade. (hello, etsy!) Sometimes the next best thing to look for when trying to plan your wedding more sustainably is to purchase a pre-owned wedding item – whether it’s a dress, a certain style of hair accessory or a handbag, or even a detail item for your reception such as a centerpiece or a cake topper.
Enter BravoBride.
BravoBride brings together buyers and sellers of new and gently used designer dresses, jewelry, and other wedding items.
Just looking at the hair accessory section, I found some amazing pieces that ran the gamut of couture, handmade, and simply unique details for a fraction of the price you would find new.
I did a quick search under the dresses category for hard to find sizes and under the $800 pricepoint… wow. Tons of couture and designer brands, some new and some gently used – all gorgeous and at surprisingly low prices! Another search under handbags turned up vintage handbags for $45 that were one-of-a-kind and absolutely beautiful.
Even the BravoBride blog is full of inspiration and designer highlights, all with links back to where you can find the same items or similar on their site for sale. Love it! Check out the blog for yourself…
